How Did Ysabel’s Parents Michael and Yvette Met
Michael Jordan and Yvette Prieto first met at a Miami night club in 2008.
Yvette Prieto was a Cuban-American model who had modeled for designer Alexander Wang. She had previously dated Julio Iglesias Jr., son of Julio Iglesias and brother of Latin pop star Enrique Iglesias.
At the time of their meeting, Michael Jordan was trying to move on from his divorce with first wife Juanita Vanoy. After their first interaction, the couple clicked instantly and things started to move pretty fast. They reportedly moved in together the following year.
Ysabel’s Parents Michael and Yvette had a Star-studded Wedding
In 2011 Ysabel’s dad Michael proposed to her mother over the Christmas holiday. They started planning their wedding straight away with sources claiming Michael wanted to give Yvette everything she wanted.
On April 27, 2013, the couple tied the knot at the Episcopal Church of Bethesda-by-the-sea in Palm Beach Florida. Their wedding reception took place in the Bears Club, a Jack Nicklaus designed golf course. Several big names attended the ceremony including the likes of Spike Lee, Patrick Ewing and Tiger Woods. Performances by singers Robin Thicke and Usher entertained the 500 guests at the reception.
In November 2013, Michael and Yvette confirmed that they were expecting. The news regarding their birth was very hush hush. Both Michael and Yvette kept everything about the birth of their twin daughters very private.
Ysabel Jordan has a Twin Sister
On February 9, 2014, Ysabel Jordan was born alongside her twin sister Victoria to parents Michael Jordan and Yvette Prieto. Upon the birth of the twins, Jordan’s spokeswoman said,
“Yvette and the babies are doing well and the family is overjoyed at their arrival.”
Both Ysabel and Victoria are the youngest among the Jordan clan.
Ysabel has three older half siblings
Ysabel’s mother, Yvette is not the only woman Michael Jordan has married. Michael Jordan married Juanita Vanoy and were together for 17 years. Throughout their marriage, Jordan and his first wife Juanita had three children; Jeffrey, Marcus and Jasmine.
Michael Jordan’s oldest son Jeffrey was born on November 18, 1988. Jeffrey followed in his father’s footsteps and pursued basketball since his childhood. He played college basketball for quite some time however failed to go professional. Currently, he works for the Jordan label leading their digital brand innovation. He married his wife Radina Aneva on May 25, 2019.
On December 24, 1990, Jordan and Juanita welcomed their second child Marcus James. Just like his brother, Marcus also played basketball in high school and college. After finishing college, he launched Trophy Room, a high end sneaker store in May 2016. Since 2022, many have linked Marcus to Larsa Pippen, the ex-wife of his dad’s teammate Scottie Pippen. The couple however split in 2024.
Michael and Juanita’s only daughter, Jasmine was born on December 7, 1992. She worked as a field representative in sports marketing for Nike’s Jordan line. Jasmine works as a basketball operations coordinator for the Charlotte Hornets, a team owned by her father. She married Rakeem Christmas whom she met during her time at Syracuse University studying sports management. The couple welcomed their son, Rakeem Michael Christmas on May 4, 2019. Rakeem is Michael Jordan’s first grandchild and Ysabel’s nephew.
