From capturing the hearts of viewers through his portrayal of a newly widowed father trying to raise three daughters to hosting America’s Funniest Home Videos for almost a decade, late actor Bob Saget has been a household name in Hollywood for most of his career. While older generations might remember him as the funny man in the 80s, younger people might be familiar with his voice as the older version of Ted Mosby who acted as the narrator for all nine seasons of the successful TV sitcom ‘How I Met Your Mother’.
On January 9, 2022, Actor Bob Saget passed away after finding him unresponsive in his room at the Ritz-Carlton Orlando. He was only 64 years old. To say his untimely death was a shock to many would be an understatement. Many of his family, friends, co-stars and fans alike mourned his death and paid tribute to him in their own ways. Following his untimely death, his legacy is lived through his three beautiful daughters; Aubrey, Lara and Jennifer. Among the three, the youngest Jennifer is often labelled as the most private one. Jennifer Grew up in a Loving Family of Five
Jennifer Belle Saget was born on November 18, 1992, as the youngest child of Bob Saget and Sherri Kramer. Her parents met when they were only 17 years old and were high school sweethearts before getting married in 1982. Along with her older sisters Aubrey and Lara, Jennifer grew up in a happy family where her parents were a constant presence throughout her early years.
Her Parents got Divorced when she Turned five
Their time as a happy family of five was cut short when Jennifer’s parents started having marital troubles. After 15 years of marriage, in 1997 Jennifer’s mother Sherri filed for divorce citing ‘irreconcilable differences in their divorce papers. Neither of them has revealed the reasons for their separation but throughout the years the ex-couple have done a wonderful job of co-parenting their three daughters.
Jennifer is also an Artist
Growing up Jennifer had a lot of influence from people who were interested in different types of art. Her father was working as a comic and an actor while her sisters took careers in more traditional forms of artistry like painting and curating. Like her sister, she is also known to have graduated from New York University probably with a degree associated with art.
While all three of them are revealed to be artists as told by her father, unlike her sisters who share glimpses of their works, she likes to remain private on her social media. However, her Instagram bio does describe her as ‘lover of music, art, technology, science, potatoes, monkfish liver, octopus and firefly squid’.
Jennifer’s Sisters Aubrey and Lara are Also an Artists
Jennifer’s eldest sister Aubrey Saget was born on February 15, 1987, in New York. She graduated from New York University with a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts in 2009 and returned again to complete her Masters’ in Fine Arts in 2016. Aubrey mainly works as an artist focusing on oil paintings with many of her works featured in many art galleries and exhibitions.
In November of 2022, Aubrey Saget got married to her longtime boyfriend Andy Kabel in Tulum, Mexico. Aubrey had revealed in December 2020 through her Instagram that she had gotten engaged to Andy with the caption ‘I said yes’.
Jennifer’s youngest sister Lara Melanie Saget was born on October 16, 1989. She attended Columbia University to complete her Bachelor’s degree in 2012 and finished her Master’s in Fine Arts in 2018 through New York University. As an artist, she mostly works with rocks, paint, glass and many other natural elements.
She is the co-founder of Studio 200 located in New York City which describes itself as an interdisciplinary artist-run collective. Lara also works as a yoga instructor and has shown glimpses of her work through her Instagram.
Jennifer is Still very close to her Mother
Children from broken homes tend to have a strained relationships with one or sometimes both parents. However, that does not seem to be the case for Jennifer and her sisters. Their father Bob Saget was always public about his adoration of them, calling them ‘the light of his life’ and ‘the best thing he’s done, the best thing in his whole life’. Their mother however stayed at the back but remained an important part of their lives. She is mentioned in the siblings’ posts on social media and the siblings also go to private events with her.
After the divorce, Jennifer’s mother took a path leading towards a better career. According to the State Bar of California, her mother Sherri Kramer has gotten her law license however it has been inactive for years. As of 2009, she was known to be working as a marriage and family therapist.
Jennifer’s Father Bob Saget Died during his Stand Up tour
On January 9, 2022, Jennifer’s father actor Bob Saget was found unresponsive in his Orlando hotel room and emergency responders pronounced him dead on the scene. Saget was amidst his standup tour and had performed in Ponte Vedra Beach the previous evening.
Following the tragic passing, the family of Bob Saget including his wife Kelly Rizzo and his adult children released the statement. It read:
“We are devastated to confirm that our beloved Bob passed away today. He was everything to us and we want you to know how much he loved his fans, performing live and bringing people from all walks of life together with laughter.”
It continued:
“Though we ask for privacy at this time, we invite you to join us in remembering the love and laughter that Bob brought to the world,” it continued. Bob’s close friends and co-stars from the series Full House also expressed grief over his sudden death and paid tribute in different ways.
While Jennifer preferred to remain private in her grievings, her older sisters went on their respective social media to honour their father. Eldest sister Aubrey shared the last text message she received from her dad and younger sister Lara shared an Instagram photo with the caption:
‘To anyone afraid to love, unconditional love is the greatest of gifts. My dad loved everything he had. He had so many reasons to be scared to love. So many loved ones kept dropping the body. Instead of being scared, he loved more. I am beyond grateful to receive and to give that love.’
The funeral of the late actor took place on January 14, 2022, and was buried at Mount Sinai Memorial Park Cemetery near the graves of his parents and sister.
Jennifer is Close with her Father’s Second Wife Kelly Rizzo
For some, divorce is one of the most devastating periods of their lives. Jennifer’s father, the late actor Bob Saget, was among them. After being married for almost 15 years, Jennifer’s parents separated. Processing through all of that was one of the hardest things for the late actor. He remained single for 18 years before finally finding the one who made him believe in love again.
In 2018, Jennifer’s father married Kelly Rizzo, the host of Eat Travel Rock TV. After meeting with Kelly, the sisters gradually became close, with Bob defining their newfound relationship as ‘magical’. He said:
“Kelly and my daughters love each other, so it really is some magical thing that happened. They love each other. And we want to enjoy the love of each other. So, that’s something that we want to do.”
After the tragic passing of Bob, the bond between the children and Kelly has remained fully intact. One fan asked Rizzo if she still talks with Bob’s children, and she said:
“I’d call it more than getting along. We love each other very much and talk or text every day, and we’re just so so grateful to be as close as we are because it’s not always the case for stepfamilies.”
Kelly was also invited to the wedding of Jennifer’s eldest sister Aubrey.
She Attended Gilbert Gottfried’s funeral
On April 12, 2022, the world lost another iconic comedian Gilbert Gottfried. Gottfried was late actor Bob Saget’s longtime close friendship with both of them always finding time to connect with each other over all these years.
Gottfried’s funeral took place in Westchester, New York and among the attendees, his friend’s three daughters were also present. Gottfried’s friend and fellow comedian Jeff Ross who gave an emotional eulogy at the service told People, “What was very heartwarming was seeing Bob Saget’s daughters at the service.”
She Prefers a More Private Life
Despite growing up in a time when her father was one of the most popular comedians, Jennifer has always lived a much more private and sheltered life. Sure when she was young, she used to accompany her father in many red-carpet events but she eventually phased out of the limelight.
Unlike her sisters who embrace the popularity that comes from being a celebrity kid, she has preferred to stay away from it. Since she is also an artist, maybe one day we will see more of her and her work.
